Terms and Conditions
Last updated: 1 April 2026
Dear Darj is a free community initiative by apxdgtl, built to bring the Hills of Darjeeling and Kalimpong together in one living directory. It is meant to stay open, useful, and free of charge for normal use, with no listing fee, no subscription fee, and no paywall for browsing or contributing basic entries.
1. Acceptance of these terms
By accessing or using Dear Darj, you agree to these Terms and to the Privacy Policy below. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
2. What Dear Darj is
Dear Darj is a directory for places, services, experiences, and local information from the Hills. It is designed to help people discover both well-known and small, easily missed entries, because those smaller pieces are part of the real story too. The platform encourages users to share what is worth seeing, even when it is not their own listing, so that the Hills become more visible over time.
3. Free use
Dear Darj is offered free of charge. There is no payment required to browse the site, add a listing, or manage a basic profile. apxdgtl may improve the service over time, but the core idea remains free access for ordinary use.
4. Accounts, signup, and consent
To create an account or submit information, you may be asked to sign in and accept the site’s terms during signup. When the consent checkbox is accepted, Dear Darj stores a consent record for audit purposes, including the acceptance time, the consent version, the IP address, and the user agent associated with the sign-up event. This helps keep a basic record of who agreed to the terms and when.
5. Your listings and content
Anything you submit, including service details, descriptions, photos, covers, handles, links, and other listing content, may be displayed publicly if it is part of a public directory entry. You are responsible for making sure what you add is accurate, lawful, and not misleading.
Please do not upload or submit content that is false, abusive, offensive, unlawful, defamatory, stolen, infringing, or likely to cause harm.
6. Handles and public identity
If you create or reserve a handle, it is meant to work as a public, memorable link for a service or listing. Handles must follow the site’s rules and may not be available if they are reserved, restricted, or already used. Handles are part of the public identity of a listing, so choose them carefully.
7. Ownership and editing
Some listings may include ownership data so that the correct account can manage the right service entry. Dear Darj also uses internal structure for service items and ownership tracking, so editing and updating remain tied to the correct listing. You should only edit listings you own or are authorised to manage.
8. Photos, files, and uploads
When you upload photos or other files, they may be stored in Cloud Storage and linked to the relevant service or profile entry. Uploaded media can be associated with ownership metadata so the system can manage files correctly. You are responsible for ensuring that you have the right to upload and publish any file you submit.
9. Accuracy of information
Dear Darj is a directory, not a guarantee. It may contain public submissions from different users, and while the platform aims to stay useful and clean, it cannot promise that every entry is always complete, current, or perfect. You should verify important details before relying on them.
10. Your responsibilities
You agree to:
provide truthful information where possible,
keep your listings reasonably up to date,
avoid abusing handles, accounts, or uploads,
not attempt to break, scrape, overload, or interfere with the site,
not impersonate another person or business,
not use the service for unlawful purposes.
11. Content moderation and removal
Dear Darj may review, hide, edit, reject, or remove content that is inaccurate, unsafe, abusive, spammy, unlawful, or otherwise harmful to the directory or its users. Listings may also be removed if they are repeatedly reported or if the account associated with them is misused.
12. Third-party services
Dear Darj may rely on third-party infrastructure and tools, including Cloud services, to store and serve data. External links or external services shown on the site are not controlled by Dear Darj, and you use them at your own risk.
13. Intellectual property
The Dear Darj name, branding, structure, and original site content belong to apxdgtl or its rightful owners, unless otherwise stated. You may not copy or reuse the site’s original branding or internal content in a way that creates confusion or misrepresents ownership.
Content you submit remains your content, but by submitting it you grant Dear Darj a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display, reproduce, and distribute it for the operation of the directory and related features.
14. No warranties
Dear Darj is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. The site does not promise uninterrupted service, error-free operation, or that every listing will always be available or complete.
15. Limitation of responsibility
To the extent allowed by law, Dear Darj and apxdgtl are not responsible for losses caused by incorrect listings, user-submitted content, service interruptions, third-party links, or reliance on information found on the platform.
16. Changes to the service or these terms
Dear Darj may update, improve, or change features at any time. These Terms may also be updated from time to time. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated version.
17. Ending access
Dear Darj may suspend or end access to an account or remove content if these Terms are violated, if the platform is being misused, or if removal is necessary to protect the service or its users.
18. Contact
For questions, corrections, removals, or privacy concerns, contact apxdgtl through the official Dear Darj contact channels or the apxdgtl website.
